The WomenElect program is unique in that we offer you training not only in professional development but also in the local political climate that you will be involved in when you choose to run for elected office.  We encourage our future candidates to take the program long before they decide a specific office to run for and to attend a program in your local area.  We will introduce you to local party officials, union leaders and political operatives who are active in your region.  These are the people that you will need to get to know before you run for office.

The WomenElect program is currently offered in the following regions of New York:

Albany/Schenectady

Auburn (Cayuga County)

Buffalo/Niagara

Corning/Elmira

Rochester

Syracuse

*more locations to be announced in the future, continue to check back here for updates.

If you are are interested in attending a program in any of these areas you can click on the link above to learn more about your local program.  To apply you can click on the Apply Now button on any page and your application will be forwarded to the local facilitator for consideration.

Classes for most locations start in November and April.  We take a break in the summer and fall election season.
